Organic Canadian Goodness

OUR STORY

Shades of Gray started with our Farm business Shades of Gray Rabbitry which is a family, Canadian-owned business located in Campbellford, ON. Our daughter's food allergies were our inspiration and a need for a healthy diet. This dietary need lead us to the discovery of the health benefits that rabbit meat gives, not only to humans but for our pets too and this led to us to raising meat rabbits.

Growing up on a farm with parents owning a butcher shop; it was a natural decision for the farm to start selling Federally inspected rabbits at local butcher shops, grocery stores and restaurants. After a few months, Keri found a gap in the pet treat market and started helping pet owners find unique traditional single-ingredient meat proteins that could benefit pets in many ways. The farm and pet treats go hand in hand to offer zero-waste products, made with high-quality ingredients.

Happy Pets and Pet Owners

OUR PURPOSE

While experts in animal health continue to explore the optimal nutritional formula for our pets, an all-natural solution has been in front of us all along—provided by nature herself. This solution is non-processed, raw meat. At Shades of Gray, we believe this is no secret to keep, but rather, knowledge to be shared to enhance the lives of numerous dogs, cats, and even exotic animals.

Our mission is to increase understanding of the numerous health advantages offered by raw and dehydrated pet food products made entirely of meat. These products offer significant nutritional benefits for our pets, potentially contributing to a healthier, longer life as nature originally intended.

Sustainable Farming

FARMING ETHICS

Maintaining our rabbit’s health is very important, so we have a team consisting of our local Vet, Guelph University Rabbit Specialist that has been instrumental in creating a farming plan and barn environment that works. We pride our farm on loving all our animals, our rabbits are raised in a happy barn with lots of enrichment toys, high quality natural feed, natural lighting, fresh air and natural ventilation.

Indigenous Pet Treats work hard to keep a healthy, clean, stress free environment along with regular health check-ups for all the rabbits that we raise as this contributes to the great taste and quality of our meat products.
